Hope everybody had a great New Years celebration. We don’t do much for New Years Eve – I’ve never liked to fight the crowds in bars, worry about other drivers, etc.. I did what I always do on New Years Eve – watch the ball drop on TV and head to bed.
Pretty Exciting – huh? I think Lady Gaga’s mask had more sparkle than the ball this year, don’t you? I did get up at midnight AZ time – sounds of
a. fireworks
or
b. someone shooting guns in the air
woke me up. Let’s hope it was fireworks, but I really don’t think so.
So, how many people make resolutions to start the new year? What does it say when you don’t make the same ole resolution (eat right, loose weight, etc.)? I hope it means that I know that I don’t have to throw out every single piece of chocolate at the crack of dawn. And, even if I do, that won’t make it more or less successful. I just know that I have to do the lifestyle change and not the diet thing. One day at a time. Eat less, move more, etc.
I have been motivated by my Christmas presents from hubby. Know what this is?
Suitcase? Close, but no cigar. It’s a carrier for my Sewing/Embroidery case. Hubby got it for me so that I can haul my sewing machine to Joanne’s for classes.
Sooooo, I’ve been sewing a little. Getting back into my embroidery machine.
I got it about 8 years ago, hubby knew I would need something to do while recuperating from major back surgery. I’ve always loved to sew ever since I took home-ec in Jr. High (I think just saying those two words kind of date’s me – anybody else go to Jr. High?).
Had to buy this fabric from fabric.com. Don’t ya love it?
We won’t even go into all of the patterns I bought on January 1st at Joannes – they were on sale for $1.00 (normally $18.95 if not on sale) – I saved so much $$!
Anyway, here are a couple of things I’m working on now:
These will make cute napkins – the design is from the Kitchen Art collection by inspira.
This will be a Cupcake shaped Wall Decoration for Miss Brenna’s room. Her Mom & Chris did such a fabulous job redecorating her room – it looks just like a spread in a Better Home & Gardens mag. Anyway, Nanna (that would be me) is adding some things to the wall for Valentine’s Day.
Well, that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve been adding a few items to my Etsy stores. Sold a couple of items that I had been using to decorate – kind of miss them already!
I’d love to know what you’ve been doing! Leave me a comment and let me know.
My Attitude is one of Gratitude:
- Got news that the Dr. told Pammie Sue (my beautiful sister-in-law) that the stem cell transplant is working! Thank you God, for prayers heard and answered.
- I am so thankful that I live such a blessed life in soooo many ways, I thank Jesus for this blessing every day.
Thank you so much for reading (I’d love it if you joined!)

Hey, I went to junior high, and the girls were required to take home ec and the boys took shop. Now that’s really showing my age! Love the cute projects!
We rock! My favorite part of Home Ec cooking was making little pizzas with English Muffins, sauce and cheeze – those were the days.
Looks like you are resolved to do more creative projects! I love the view out your window over your sewing machine! Good luck to you in our giveaway. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. P.S. Those are fun pics you posted of New Years! I have a love hate with that woman. I just hate that I love the Gaga!!! : )
