Merry Christmas! Changes in 2013

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As you may know, I have an Etsy store where I sell Vintage Items.  I have so enjoyed the store.  It has allowed me to wander around thrift stores {one of my favorite, most healthy activities}, find treasures and offer them for sale.  Well, the past 3 packages we shipped have been destroyed by the Post Office.  My hubby, the shipper, is an engineer and that means he’s very detail oriented and very careful.  We have double and even triple boxed these wonderful vintage items to make sure that they arrive in tact.  We have marked each package fragile, etc..  The Post Office has broken them anyway.

Why don’t I use another carrier?  Too expensive.  One of the reasons that my store(s) have done as well as they did was that I kept the prices low for my customers.  Charging a ton more for shipping and paying for custom boxes, etc. is just not what a smart business person would do.  Therefore, I’m folding up shop -  at least for the mainly glass, mostly fragile items I’ve loved.

Most of what I loved to write about in this blog, were the vintage items I found and loved . . . . . JBsVintage.

So, I need to re-think what will become of my blog and my business.  If you are reading this, know that I appreciate it more than you will ever know.  I’m going to take the next month or so to think about what changes I can make {if any} to keep my little business going.  When I find the answer – you’ll be one of the firsts to know.

Merry Christmas {she said -  remembering, now more than ever, the reason for the holiday – Jesus!} and God Bless You!

I love you guys!

My Crafty little Oopsies

Failed Graphics Transfer-1

Do you guys ever have crafty oopsies?  It seems like every time I read someone’s blog or tutorial explaining how they made this, that or the other thing, they make it seem so easy.  Even when I’m watching a video, it looks like cake.   But sometimes when I try it, it just doesn’t go so…

I’ve wanted to get my hands on a Silhouette Cameo for at least a year now.  Why, because I’m kinda crazy about Signs, Subway art and Graphics.  So, I’ve been entering all the contests {and there are quite a few, every few months} and trying to win one.     Ya know that little kid…

Milk Paint vs Faux Chalk Paint

Hand Painted Milk Paint Sign

You probably know by now that I’m just a little over the moon about chalk paint – specifically about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  These are some of my favorite projects I’ve completed with ASCP: This is a thrift store mirror that I painted ASCP Old White and antiqued with a mixture of dark wax and…
